Grown in the mountains
Natural-process coffee cared for at Santa Rosa Farm in Matagalpa, where climate, elevation, and generations of knowledge shape every harvest.

Before there was a name on a bag, there was a man, a farm, and a dream—one that would travel from the mountains of Nicaragua to the sea in Florida.
Three Generations, Two Countries, One Origin
Morenito Coffee began long before there was a name on a bag. It began at Santa Rosa Farm, with values strong enough to endure loss and a tradition lovingly passed down through three generations.

Manuel Moreno
The dream—where the Moreno family story began.
Manuel Moreno was a hardworking man with a generous heart and a vision for the future. He purchased a farm in the mountains of Matagalpa and named it Santa Rosa. It became a place where family, hard work, generosity, and hope could take root.
December 23, 1972
After a devastating earthquake struck Nicaragua, Manuel brought people back to Santa Rosa and gave them shelter, food, and work—simply because they needed a place to begin again.
On March 30, 1973, Manuel was tragically killed by one of the very people he had helped. He was only 46 years old, but the generosity he lived by never left Santa Rosa.
My father, Rolando Moreno, was only 11 years old when he lost his father. The middle child of five children, he was entrusted by my grandmother with something far greater than a farm. He was entrusted with his father's legacy.
And he carried it.
Through the years, my father cared for Santa Rosa with strength, pride, and dedication. In 2002, believing in what the farm could become, he expanded it by purchasing an additional 24 acres. His dream was to someday bring our family's coffee from Nicaragua to the United States and build something here in Florida. Unfortunately, he never had the opportunity to see that dream fully realized. In November 2023, at the age of 62, we lost my father following complications related to COVID-19. But his dream did not end with him.

Rolando Moreno
The responsibility—carrying Santa Rosa and his father’s dream forward.
In April 2023, Derick purchased a property in Bokeelia, Florida, that was originally meant to become his little man cave. Instead, it became Green Thumb Ranch—a tiny ranch filled with miniature animals, shared with the community and anyone who wants to slow down, smile, and enjoy a little piece of family life.
Somewhere along the way, it became clear that Santa Rosa and Green Thumb Ranch belonged to the same story. The dream Manuel started and the responsibility Rolando carried are now Derick’s to continue.
